The Refrigeration School, Inc offers a combination program that includes the Electrical Technologies Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating Technologies and Solar courses. Graduates are prepared for entry level positions in these industries.
Educational Objective
The objective of the Electro-Mechanical Technologies Course is to train and prepare students for entry as service and maintenance technicians in the fields of Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Maintenance Electricians, and Solar Installation. Current evidence suggests that a person cross-trained in related fields is in demand by employers. In fact, some employers require cross training as a condition of advancement. Electro-Mechanical Technologies course offers such cross training, and that could mean more job stability with faster upward mobility.
Electro-Mechanical Technologies graduates will complete the following for a diploma:
- Fundamentals of Refrigeration
- Refrigeration Systems and Practices
- Fundamentals of Electricity
- Electric Wiring Residential
- Fundamentals of Solar
- Electric Wiring Commercial
- Comfort Systems Residential
- Comfort Systems Commercial
- Advanced Troubleshooting
NOTE: First academic year is concluded upon successful completion of (24) semester credits and 30 weeks of training.

Grover Morgan of Parker and Sons, Inc.
After 10 years as a truck driver, Grover Morgan was ready for a change. In his own words, "I felt like I was a lump in a seat". Needing a challenge and to work with his hands, he began to look at career options. Like all prospective students, Grover toured the RSI campus to see it for himself. He did some of his own research and also asked current students about their experience. Based on his findings, he decided that the career and RSI would suit him well. Grover graduated from RSI’s Electro-Mechanical Technologies Program in 2007 and works as a Service Technician at Parker & Sons, Inc. and is pleased with his career choice.
