    The Education continues

Very insightful instructor, very hands on, and the insight and support goes beyond the classroom.

    Learned a lot, it’s a good program

The overall program is pretty good, my instructors are really knowledgeable, and they helped me quite a bit, especially Larrison Smith, I would prefer a longer course structure, not just fundamentals, and would like to see more class time on blue prints, and more time with acetylene, and more time spent on individual projects, but overall it was a great experience, and I would recommend this to anyone, looking for a career in welding

    Great Instructors

Overall, it’s a great program, solely based on the great instructor I had, Larrison Smith. Larrison was always there to help, always made sure I understood what I was doing and how I was supposed to do it. He was always fair and understanding. He made a wonderful instructor by actually caring where we ended up and that we enjoyed what we did. Larry always made sure, even when if it was hard to hear, what I needed to do to succeed and become a good welder. I am very grateful for having Larry as an instructor, I wouldn’t of made it if I’d had any other instructor.

    Great program

Great program and instructors are good. The only thing that the school didn’t mention was it doesn’t make you a certified welder.

    Good School !

I loved attending RSI. Most of the instructors are great. They need a larger facility. I would reccomend attending.

Great Program, Awesome Time and Experience

I really enjoyed the program and having the chance to go back to school. Also even though I knew nothing about refrigeration when I started I feel like I learned a lot from the school and the instructors. But I will definitely recommend the school to people who are interested in refrigeration.

    Good school old teaching techniques

Rsi is a good school they teach the basics. They teach you to start entry lever Hvac career. You will not be a master. Lots of there airflow techniques are outdated. The only so called hands on training is on boards. It doesn’t help you for some of the bigger components and what they looks like. Overall good school just need to bring the program up to speed. In how to do a heat load and so forth.

I am a proud RSI Graduate!!

My overall training at RSI will forever enhance my technical skills. During my class time there, I was able to transfer what I was taught immediately into my everyday work experience. I have been given more opportunity to exhibit my new skills and with that came a great raise in pay! I also made new great friends here, which also includes instructors. I am proud to say “I am a Service Technician Graduate of RSI!”

    Mike was awesome

Overall the school was great, it definitely prepared me for the basics of the field and prepared me to get my certifications. there is a lot of stuff that aren’t covered but that is what real world experience is for. Mike from 8th phase was amazing, the structure and material taught in his class are what prepared me the most for working in the field. I can trouble shoot just about anything with the methods he taught me. I think making videos in the class mandatory should be removed, the videos were dry and un-informative. There should also be less down time in classes to keep students engaged and learning. Attendance should be taken more serious as well, some guys would only show up for a week and still pass the phase. Over all I am happy with my experience with RSI and I was able to get a job before I even graduated due to the skills and knowledge RSI equipped me with.

Glad I enrolled even with the problems

I enjoyed my time at RSI overall. I feel that I came out with a foundation that I could take into the trade and build upon that I wouldn’t be able to do had I not enrolled. Most of the instructors were good at teaching and cared about your success. Phase 7 and 8 were an absolute mess. I can be understanding in knowing that they were some staffing issues, one being an instructor’s illness but as a student who is paying a lot of money for the experience I shouldn’t have to deal with the quality of my education deminishing due to those problems. I had an instructor who would constantly fall asleep presenting power points, probably because he was working 15 hours a day every day. Then my class was merged with the class ahead of mine so the phases could be rearranged. The large class resulted in having two instructors one who was an absolute miserable person who does not listen and would rather complain about you not knowing than to take advantage of a teachable moment and you know, do his job. The other teacher “helped” the miserable teacher out by watching my class half the night. Our first hour would consist of sitting doing nothing watching him eat. Then he would tell us to read something and disappear for another hour. When the class would ask questions he wouldn’t be able to answer them. He didn’t know the answers. Or in an attempt to play up to his “big man on compass” persona he would give way off base wrong answers. I’m glad I went to the school I wish however I was not attending during the school’s transitional period. If this review is taken as a learning tool I hope that the lessons learned is to focus on the people who are working with the students every day, you know your paying customers in times of corporate change. Ericka Bacca in career services is an excellent employee who is always available to help in your employment needs. She’s a stand out employee.

    Truly a hands on approach

I completed the AOS Mechanical Engineering degree in a relatively short time ” less than two years as opposed to traditional Associate Degrees “. RSI combines a classroom and hands on approach. You learn what you actually need for a real career in HVAC. Begin with the basics and build upon your knowledge as you progress. It is not all classroom nor hands on which makes it easy to stay engaged and simple to comprehend. I believe RSI offers the feel of a small and tight network off staff willing to help but also the feel of a large quality curriculum. If working with your hands is what you enjoy RSI is worth a look into.

I am happy I chose RSI for my training.

I received an overall great gift from attending this program. The Instructors were easy to work with and the atmosphere was safe. I will remember these Instructors for the rest of my life. They all helped me achieve my long term goal to become an avid Hvac technician. I’ve waited long time for the opportunity to learn the needed skills and to understand the nomenclature of the equipment in my trade.
Thank you RSI, I’m making $1300 a week and that’s just the beginning.
