No matter what area of heating, ventilation or air-conditioning a HVAC technician decides to work in, her or she should find available job opportunities. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) 1, job growth in this field will be faster than the average with about 21 percent more technicians needed in 2022 from those needed in 2012. This growth is due to an increase in construction projects in both commercial and residential settings. Moreover, innovative technology will see new HVAC systems replacing older ones. HVAC technicians who have completed vocational HVAC training will be in particular demand.

RSI Career Services

Those who are currently enrolled in or have already graduated from an HVAC training program at The Refrigeration School can take advantage of RSI’s career services. In addition to helping students with resume writing and interviewing techniques, the Career Services Department can refer students to job fairs and offer networking opportunities with local businesses. All these resources are included for RSI students. The Career Services Department works with Arizona-based and nation-wide skilled trade employers to help RSI graduates find a job they trained for.

HVAC Web Connection

The HVAC Web Connection is an online community for HVAC technicians. The site links to the latest news within the industry, as well as to helpful products and services. Especially interesting is the job board, where HVAC technicians can search for openings by entering specific information regarding the type of employment they are looking for, including location or position. There are 17 different categories to choose from, ranging from Air Conditioning Tech to Warehouse Manager. The site also provides career advice regarding resume writing, job interviews, and salary information.

HVACJobsNetwork: This website provides a wealth of information for HVAC job seekers. A calendar of HVAC job fairs held in various cities across the U.S. can be helpful for HVAC professionals who want to meet various employers in one setting. Resumes can be posted on the site prior to any event, giving employers a chance to review candidates before the actual job fair. This also gives potential employees a chance to introduce themselves prior meeting employers in person.

HVACAgent: This site provides a job matching service, linking employers who are seeking HVAC technicians with technicians who are looking for employment. It is a competitive service that accepts only about half of the applications that are submitted to the site. Since its inception in 2002, HVACAgent has matched 2,580,000 applications with employers.

Career Builder: While this website has job offers for many industries, it also has a specific section for those looking for HVAC jobs.
