COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is impacting the globe in ways we haven’t seen in recent memory. We understand that you have concerns and questions and we want to help create clear lines of communication. What safety precautions are being taken at the campus?
To uphold CDC guidelines and maximize social distancing, we have developed a diligent plan to keep students, faculty and staff safe.
The following changes and safety measures are required for everyone while on campus:
Facemasks are required for all persons on campus
Daily temperature checks are required before entering the campus
Per CDC guidelines, those with a fever over 100 or above will not be permitted on premise
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority and we will continue to take the necessary precautions to provide a safe and sanitized learning environment. Safety measures we will uphold include:
Disinfecting all classrooms, common areas
Encouraging anyone who does not feel well to stay home
Providing sanitary supplies around the campus for frequent handwashing and equipment disinfection
Posting signs to not enter the campus if you are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness, including a fever or cough
We will continue to monitor for local and statewide recommendations and directives, and keep you informed of any critical updates as they become available. We are pleased to welcome our students back to the campus and remain committed to your continued education.

What is RSI's Leave of Absence Policy
In a continuing effort to ensure the safety of all of our students, we have implemented a new Leave of Absence (LOA) policy, effective immediately. A leave of absence will be available for any individual who feels they have been affected by, have genuine concerns about contracting, or have tested positive for COVID-19. A student or parent may contact us directly to request an LOA, effective for 60 days, with no impact on their financial or school progress.
We are committed to helping students and families get through this period safely. Our on-campus efforts still include additional disinfecting measures and adjusted schedules to limit social interaction, but we understan d the continued concern at this time.We will continue to operate with a modified schedule to foster those students who wish to complete their program on time.

What precautions is RSI taking to ensure the safety of students?
We understand the concern our students and parents are facing over COVID-19. We are closely watching State and National health agencies to ensure that we are taking every precaution with students faculty and staff on our campus.
In addition to our regular cleaning routine, we are disinfecting all classrooms and common areas of the campus regularly. Additionally, we are disinfecting all high touch surfaces multiple times throughout the day.
We have also taken steps to maximize social distancing at the campus, keeping everyone six feet or more apart per CDC guidelines, and incorporating remote learning into our programs all in a effort to allow students to complete the program while maintaining a healthy environment.

What action has RSI taken to lower the risk of COVID-19 community spread?
RSI works to maintain a clean and safe environment. To help prevent community spread, we have implemented cleaning procedures with the use of stronger disinfectant products on high-touch surfaces, made hand sanitizers readily available, and continue to educate campus teams on best practices recommended by the CDC.
Is the campus open for tours?
We recommend calling to set an appointment with one of our Admissions Representatives. They can guide you through a virtual tour of the campus and discuss the number of programs available.
What happens if I can't afford to pay my in-school payments right now?
All of us at RSI want the focus to be on the health and safety of you and your loved ones during this unprecedented time. We know this situation has brought uncertainty and you may have already had to make tough financial decisions.
To help alleviate some of the stress during this time, RSI is immediately delaying all in-school student payments for 60 days if you have a due date of April or sooner. Not late fees will be incurred.

How will I know when the school is opening the campus for classes?

What do I do if I'm enrolled but my class has not started yet?

Will graduation ceremonies still happen?
We plan on re-scheduling graduation ceremonies for a later date. Check our website regularly for updates or contact Student Services at your campus for details.
If the campus is closed when I am scheduled to start my program, what will my new start date be?
While we are making every effort to continue classes with reduced exposure to staff and students, we are subject to National and State directives regarding closure. In the event we must close, we will provide regular communications with important information as received from the state or federal government. Once the mandate is lifted, we will welcome all students back to the campus to complete necessary lab trainings and continue their classroom instruction according to their program structure.

Will I be able to complete any coursework remotely?
We remain committed to your continued education so we’ve introduced a temporary transition to instructor-led remote training. Once we are able to return to campus, students will be able to complete necessary lab trainings and continue their classroom instruction according to their program structure.
What is COVID-19
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China. (CDC, NCOV Factsheet)
How does COVID-19 Spread
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person - between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) or through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
People are thought to be most contagious when they are most symptomatic (the sickest). Some spread might be possible before people show symptoms; there have been reports of this occurring with this new coronavirus, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. How to help prevent the spread of infectious diseases
Although the immediate risk of COVID-19 is believed to be low at this time, CCHHS recommends that everyone take actions to help prevent the spread of all respiratory viruses including the flu and COVID-19.
- Stay home when you are sick
- Get a seasonal flu shot
- Wash hands frequently
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth
- Avoid contact with people who are sick
- Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
As of March 6, 2020, the CDC states that symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.

What if I develop flu-like symptoms?
Flu symptoms include fever, cough and difficulty breathing. If you develop symptoms consistent with the flu or are concerned that you may have been exposed to COVID-19:
- Students: Stay home and avoid attending classes or other public venues. Notify your faculty about your absence (just as you normally would do for a common cold or flu) and request what options there are for you to complete course work and/or turn in assignments remotely.
- Faculty and Staff: Stay home and avoid campus or other public venues. Please contact your immediate supervisor to make appropriate arrangements that may include, but are not limited to, working from home and/or identifying a substitute to cover classroom needs, etc.
